Surely I’ve not left it nearly 6 months since I was last on here?! Doesn’t time fly? In my defence I’ve been really busy.

Well this will be just a quick update…. I’m still working at ITV in Leeds and I love it! I’m contracted here until Christmas which will mean by the time I finish I would have been there 11 months. Considering it was only a 3month contract initially I think I’ve done well :-) I’ve been working on some really exciting projects and I’ve also had chance to go out filming as well.

In my personal life I’ve completed two 10k runs and been on holiday on my own since I last wrote on here.

I’m really loving life at the moment and I have lots to look forward to in the next coming months!

Wow its April and some already!! Lets try and update you all on my goings-on…

I’m still working with Shiver at Leeds and should be here until the end of July now :-) Good times! Work is very busy and I’m loving it! Can’t wait for the first programme to be broadcast and I shouldn’t have too long to wait now. I’ve also been able to relive a dream of working on Emmerdale while I’ve been here (my favourite soap) as I got to swap my role for the day and shadow the 2nd/3rd assistant directors! It was so much fun, I’ll write about it soon.

I’ve also just accomplished going camping and sleeping in a tent for the first time this weekend gone! Anyone that knows me will realise how much of a big thing that was. And I had so much fun!!!!!!

Easter has just been and gone. I have some chocolate to eat and then I’m going to get stuck in good and hard to my training for my two 10k runs this year. So…. I got the job at Shiver I went for last time I wrote! Whoop! :-) Which is why I’ve not blogged in a while. I’ve now nearly finished my 2nd week based up at ITV Yorkshire in Leeds. I’ve also moved, obviously. I’m now living in a lovely flat with my live-in Landlord (or Lady) in Alwoodley which is North-East of Leeds. I’m loving life at the moment. Work is brilliant - I’m the Production Secretary across all ITV factuals in Leeds. Life is good - I have plenty of friends here and my flatmate is lovely and my work colleagues are ace!

All is good!

So this is my first little blog this year. 2012! Woo where does the time go?

So I’ve not been up to much this year yet other than going to bed late, getting up late and with the odd gym session in between. I’ve got an informal interview/chat thing tomorrow at Shiver in Manchester but if I get offered the job I’ll be based in Leeds - so I might be moving! How exciting?!

I’ll get back to you all (whoever you all are - is there anyone there?) soon to let you all know how that goes.

So I finished working on Christmas Coach Trip for Channel 4 a few weeks ago now, the show is currently being aired! And its awesome even if I do say so myself! Since then I’ve been working for Talkback Thames on Britain’s Got Talent in Liverpool and Birmingham where I met more fab people!!

In other news, there are 6 sleeps left until Christmas! :-) I have finished buying all the presents, I just need to wrap them and make them look all pretty. I can’t wait. I love spending time with my family and friends. Excited!

I wish whoever reads my ramblings a Very Merry Christmas. Take care of yourselves and each other and stay safe throughout the New Year!

Wow!

So I’m currently more than half way through my, what I consider, first ‘proper’ television job. I’m the Production Secretary for Coach Trip Christmas Special. It has been completely manic and non-stop and no doubt I’ll be happy to not ever book a flight again in my life! Lol! I’m joking, I love it! I’m not able to have a social life while I’m working on it but I’m learning so much its unbelievable. Lets hope it leads to something else and then that leads to something else. I just want the work to start rolling in :-)

So……… the last time I wrote on here I was hoping that by now I would have had some luck on the job front. Well, I have and I haven’t. I’ve been lucky enough to ‘bag’ some short-term contracts as a runner on BBC3’s Don’t Tell the Bride and ITV1’s Dickinson’s Real Deal but I’m still looking for a long-term position. Now I know that in the TV industry that nothing is permanent but I would be happy with a 4/6/8-week contract rather than the few days I’ve been getting. Although from the experience I’ve been able to gain the last month or so has allowed me to secure a few more interviews so hopefully it won’t be too much longer.

I’ve been very busy as of late hence no update on here for a while.

I’ve been travelling the country for interviews (no luck yet), working on Chester’s Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre, temping with Office Angels, working on the Back to the Timepiece documentary, volunteering on other projects, friend’s weddings, friend’s BBQs and general life. I’m loving everything at the moment but if I was allowed one wish it would be for me to secure that first professional TV job. I believe I deserve it.

Hopefully when I next write on here it will be with some exciting news on the career front. One can only hope!

I’m going to watch my talented friend Warren Sollars in Mamma Mia and then my lovely cousin Laura is kindly putting me up. On Friday (the main reason for the visit) I’m off to the BECTU Freelancers Fair at the Savoy Place for some seminars etc…

It should be an interesting couple of days!!

I’ve not blogged for a little while so I’ve made some time today to update you all. Update you all on nothing in particular.

So… I’m due to finish my part-time pub job on Wednesday. Woohoo! This is so over I can concentrate on some filming/art projects over the coming summer months. It was kind of getting in the way of me being able to commit to weekend stuff and I have been there nearly ten years so I think it was time for me to go. I will miss it in a way but I’m sure I’ll quickly get over that! :) I’m planning to temp when I can which will hopefully be a little bit more flexible for me.

I’m still working on the ‘Back to the Timepiece’ documentary at Pidgin Productions in Liverpool :) And I’ve just started work as a Location Manager on a short film being produced by Scar Tissue Films in Manchester. So I’m busy on the fronnt atm which is great!!

My other venture at the moment is my Race for Life which is on Sunday 22nd May! Eeek! I’ve been hitting the gym hard recently so I believe I’m well prepared just hope I can do it in a decent time and raise loads of money!

Eeek!!! So Sunday 17th April will be our first shooting day for the ‘Back to the Timepiece’ documentary. I’ve been spending the last few weeks sourcing cardboard for some cutout people & getting hold of some 70s costumes, well you know how it is in Film/TV world! Ha! Today I’ve sent out the Production Schedules & Friday I’ll be spending my time ironing I reckon. Lol! But on Sunday I’m expecting to have lots of fun as we try to create our own version of Soul Train :-)

So I went to two networking events last week and met some really interesting and inspiring people. I have been making contact with them over the past few days reminding myself to them and I’m planning to keep doing so. They won’t hear the last from me now. *Evil Laugh*.

I have two media events next week, one in Leeds and one in Manchester. I’m well looking forward to meeting new people and getting the word about ‘Me’ out there. I’ve been designing some business cards today & they will be going to print over the next few days. So exciting! I feel all ‘proper’ already :-)

Back when I was younger I used to write a lot of poetry. Some of it was good, some not so. I’ve recently found some of the stuff I wrote. Here’s a sample, which in my opinion isn’t that bad considering I was about 14.

Scorpio (Oct 23 - Nov 22)

Pluto, the ruler for people like me,

It is small and not that easy to see.

Pluto, the planet furthest from the Sun,

Not a lot known about it by the lay person.

So….. I have no idea what I’m doing on here….

…I suppose I should talk about me which is hard to do when you think about it. I’m just me. I’m not the most interesting person but nor am I boring. I’m just Suzanne. A girl who has a big heart but who is sometimes too scared to show it. I am passionate and fiercely loyal which makes me sound kind of brash but I’m not. I’m a quiet person, a person who loves to observe and take in my surroundings. Don’t get me wrong I’m not a loner and I love to chat. I suppose what I’m trying to say is I’m not one-dimensional. I’m just me, me who takes things as I find them but I’ll always admit if I find ‘them’ wrong the first time round.
